The main set for the first series was the great hall of the Cintra castle - multiple scenes took place here.

It needed a majestic (faux) tiled floor with a great level of detail, to stay believable even during closeups of fight scenes.

This meant that all the misalignments and crevices had to be drawn with minimal repetition for the entirety of the 660 sqm. set.

It lived on in the following series, and was reprinted for its shooting in Pinewood Studios.
